Description
Decided to make an "before and after" to see how much I improved during the years, the first one is from 2009 and the second if from 2014I must say there's a bit of a different, at least when it comes to the technique and use of markers

I would say style has changed more than anything else. While it's apparent that the use of markers and technique in the second produces depth, the previous style never really required use of such technique. I think flat and stylized vs realistic depth are two very different art forms. I'd say you'd be adaptable to do both. One for logos, caricatures, graphic design, and the other for illustration for books, shirts, etc.

I know when I made the first one I wanted it to look more realistic than than it turned out to be. I wanted to make shades and depth, but I didn't really know how to do it and I had no idea how to blend the colors. So for me it a huge improvement :>

Well, your intent does mean something in terms of improvement. I would say if your previous goal was to create realism and shading, then yes you have improved
