Today's drawing is a very special commission for a lovely lady and her daughter of their bird Dewey. Sadly Dewey passed away earlier this year, but his memory lives on. I was honored to draw this memorial picture.Related content

This is absolutely adorable! Beautifully well done by the way. Did you by chance incorporate watercolor pencils into this or add water to dry colored pencils? I think it has a whimsical, colorful presentation about it that the owner should love. My sincerest condolences on the passing of the birdie. I sincerely hope she appreciates / loves it because it's a beautiful piece let alone a beautiful way to represent as a gift. I don't think many people realize that when we as artists give our work to others, it's us really giving a little bit of our soul to them. At least that has always been how I have felt when regarding my work.
My husband was considering getting a bird. Maybe perhaps I will surprise him with a bird as a next anniversary gift surprise. They can be remarkable pets. Anyways, great work and best wishes!
