Description Spent a glorious day at the Leipzig Zoo again and met a wonderful fellow deviant (*waves*)!! The most wonderful thing was that there were three little tiger cubs to see not even three months old! And their proud father knew what his fans wanted and gave us proof of what a good swimmer he is!

Oh yes, he's a beauty... and very willing to let his admirer's watch him from up close (he's a very curious and communicative tiger ).

Oh yes, he LOVED his pool! He'd go in there and swim a round every 10 - 15 minutes while I was there, once up and down the window to have a look at the people behind it.

Hahahaha, I guess he likes showing off?

No, he's just very curious (and apparently loves communication)... and I suppose the water provides him with the best opportunity to get rid of some raw power. There are other pictures of him in my gallery if you're interested.

I love that tiger, and that zoo. It must be the nicest one in Germany. Unfortunately, it's a 2 hours' drive from Berlin, but then again, it's close enough to visit at least once a year.

Thank you. Yes, I was lucky on this shot, it all came together: the tiger looking at me, and the water making this little wave.

Katzilla13 In reply to GotchiCat [2010-05-06 07:21:01 +0000 UTC]

The tiger's pool ends at a window to the enclosure, otherwise I wouldn't have made this shot, believe me... or lived to show it.

What a gorgeous shot! It's lovely to see a happy tiger doing his natural thang, well done! It's such a shame your camera didn't capture more detail! You should def get a real expensive one because you certainly have the skill to do wonders with it

Faved!

powerful animal
its weird to think people in england had exotic cats as pets not too long ago

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katzilla13 In reply to neb11 [2009-10-30 15:29:50 +0000 UTC]

That's indeed a weird thought, and I am always sad when I hear of private people keeping big, exotic animals for pets. They will never be able to provide even the tiniest bit of what these animals need to live.

neb11 In reply to Katzilla13 [2009-11-02 02:13:01 +0000 UTC]

exactly
theres stories of big cats still running around wild in countryside england. Eating sheep and other animals

i always find photographers who take shots of wild animals to be very lucky, even though they're in a zoo. they make a more interesting subject than cats and dogs
also, i like the captured moment, the way the tiger dives into the water and seems to be heading straight out of the photo, towards the viewer.
