Spent a glorious day at the Leipzig Zoo again and met a wonderful fellow deviant (*waves*)!! The most wonderful thing was that there were three little tiger cubs to see not even three months old! And their proud father knew what his fans wanted and gave us proof of what a good swimmer he is!Related content

Thank you. Yes, he was a very friendly tiger. He came swimming by the window repeatedly and just looked who stood before his enclosure. Not the slightest sign of aggression.

A really great capture, I love the pose and the detail on his/her face, its a shame the colours dont appear a bit more vivid, but then again that could just be my screen it does dull them down a bit.

I'll probably have another go at it. It was a very overcast sky and there was a dirty glass window between us, so it isn't perfectly sharp or vivid... but I'll see whether I can cheat...

I had another go at it last night and think it helped. What do you think? And yeah, the worst thing (making shots absolutely impossible) are those tightly knit wire-fences. I hate those!

Yea it looks much better, more vivid colours it shows off the tigers coat more.

I *was* actually standing right in front of him, only seperated by a glass window. A feeling that gives you an antsy feeling in your stomach to watch this majestic animal up close and look it in the eye!

Nope, each zoo is different (at least over here), and Leipzig is one of the zoos with the approach to make everything as close to the animals' environment as possible... without steel-bars or so.
And it's security glass, so I didn't feel unsafe. Plus the tiger was not behaving aggressive at all, he was merely curious.

He's so cute my heart is leaping! The water even looks cool and delicious; very excellent photo. Gah, I can't stop smiling at this! Looks just like my kitty, Bear, when I scratch under his chin, just 100 times bigger, ha ha ha!

Hee hee, yes, I saw some white tigers up close once, and even though they were rubbing and playing and being happy like kitties, I didn't even for a moment want to get any closer or try to touch those bad boys

Nope. After all, they're predators. I think alone last week two people in zoos died from tiger attacks because they were careless.
