A question about her family name. There's a french river and departement called Herault and both are located in the south, in the region Languedoc-Roussillon. It's not so close to the italian border, but also at the mediterrean sea. However, is there a connection or is it maybe the reason that you have chosen this name?
Some more information about the timeline. If she was there to support the allied troops, it happens certainely after August 15th, 1944. That's the date when the "Operation Dragoon" started. The goal was the liberation of the south of France and to install a second front following the first one formed by the "Operation Overlord", which is the nothing more than the well known attack in the Normandie (the famous D-day). Even earlier, in July 1943, the allied forces conquered in Sicily in Italy and started to move in direction continental Italy. As a result, the italian gouvernement, brokes the pact with Germany and changed side. The german troops in Italy were suddenly left alone, and moved back to the north. But the allied forces were too strong and after a long struggeling most parts of Italy where under their control. So, in 1944 the german forces in southern France were under huge pressure from nearly every direction. Did they really had the time for strange ocult stuff? Or was it a kind of last straw? As a kid I had aΒ ton of the bigΒ marvel profile "index" cards, with the 3points of view image front and then story and info on the back. So this was really cool!
