I know it's non of my business but you shouldn't let things like that bother you, your drawings are beautiful
And you should just keep doing what you're doing
You probably heard this a bunch of times of other people encouraging you not knowing your life but from one person to another, I think you should keep going

When i saw this in my notifications, i expected this to be hilarious like most of your other comics. But after reading it i regret it.
Not because i don't like it, but because now i'm gonna get all depressed and cynical towards the world. -_-

I think when it comes to my art, I've got a sort of weird medium in how people react?
Like, my mom isn't completely dismissive of it but she has pointed out that I should have a back up plan since art is kind of a hard thing to get a job in. (Which I already knew and is why I plan to go to college for culinary, and then back for animation, possibly) And when I show her pictures she's like "oh, it looks good." But I do have to put up with her talking crap about my style/inspiration? Like I'm heavy into the stylized art of anime/manga and I love the different styles of different animes and noting the slight differences from lining, to coloring or shading, to anatomy. Both of my brothers are also into anime (not as heavily as I am, mind you, but they still are) and she is just so... bull-headed, to try and put it into words? She's very dismissive of the style and of anime/manga simply cause it's different (i.e.; usually listened to in Japanese or read from right to left instead of left to right) and so she'll flat out insult it, my inspiration, even though it's obvious how much it means to me.
As a result, I'm very much hidden when it comes to my sketchbook or my art in real life. I constantly feel like people are judging me whenever I draw in the style I love in public simply because it's different - even if it's friends who also draw anime-styled. I still feel very much self conscious that they'll judge it.

My parents were strangely the opposite.
I dropped out of art college about 20 years ago now and my mom still expects me to pull some super expensive masterpiece out of my-- *hem*.
For me art was always for pleasure and way to enhance my stories, but I got really tired of it after years of my mom expectations pressuring me to become some super genius artist, now I hardly ever draw anymore.

Haha, not that tragic, I've just learned more about following my own dreams and wants than letting others dictate them to me. And, yes, it always was about the stories.

I feel so blessed that my parent's don't bother me when I'm working with wet paint. However if I'm drawing, sewing/embroidering,Β or digital painting... all bets are off because I can always 'put it down and come back.' But they do the same when I'm studying at home, so I should be thankful that they treat my hobbies with the same value as my biotechnology work.

always ran into the same/similar situations when I was still at home. My dad is a work-aholic and basically demeans anyone else as not doing anything useful, and then I would give in and help him with work and he would still ask me why I wasn't doing chores after we were done, chores being to clean up the mess my 4 siblings had made, those fourΒ siblings always having conveniently gone off to friends houses or some social event

Your art is beautiful and amazing and never let your Dad put you down for goodness sakes people who speak like what they say is right really piss me off. If you're doing what you love and it makes you happy, then it doesn't matter what it is. Rather you be happy then a miserable old coot. I love to draw but I can't for my life and I would like die to be able to draw like you. Please never let anyone put you down and continue to share your amazing talent with the rest of us. Thank you c:
That and some people just don't have the brains to understand any form of art so feel bad for them lol they can't enjoy things like you can cx

Yeah.. In a way, the world seems to think artist are worthless and have easy jobs but in reality, they have one of the hardest jobs out there and they're not even CLOSE to worthless. They are worth so much more than anyone could understand because every artist is filled with passion, a vision, imagination and the need to create. They see the world in a completely different light.
Honestly, people need to stop looking at artists and thinking/saying ''I wish I had their job" or "Their job is so easy, anyone could do it'' Because no, not everyone can draw, and it takes so much more then a pen and a paper, it takes a dreamer.
Honestly, I could talk about this all day but this comment is long enough. Kawacy, or anyone, don't let this depress you. If they can't see that your amazing and unique in every beautiful way, then hey, it's their loss.Β

You don't have to care about the opinion of other surpassing yours. You only have to find your own way by doing the thing that calls you, makes you feel good, that you love and are passionate about!
Nobody but you can understand your path, they can't experience it because they are not you! Don't let the judgment of other sadden you down . You can respond a more general answer, a more loving answer if you want like: this is what I like, it makes me feel good, it helps me relax, everybody have his own passion, I'm sure you can finds yours too, i love to be free to do what i like, i'am really enjoying it!, it's working well for me!, you might not see it as IΒ see it, but it's okay that you think your own though, I'm not mad or sad because your view is different because I listen to my own feeling and I'm feeling really good doing it so it's really beneficial for me!
