I think that during my entire pokemon career up until very recently- that is Moon, I only wanted to catch fire types. I have no idea how i beat the games with just that type but hey now you know its possible.

I restarted my Pokemon Black game, and I always seem to choose the water type starters. It was only the second time I played it but I got to level 90 in three days because I only focused on Oshawott and Reshiram. I just kept using Surf and annihilating my opponents... until I started finding trainers above level 70. Let's just say I nearly threw my Nintendo on many an occasion XD

I always choose the fire starter. Grass is a second for me. Don't really choose Water types for starters.
