Well its a fanfic. Lots of them are inaccurate in terms of character information because the writer is so focused on the storyline they want. They probably used Kazuto as a full on girl because... It would be confusing in a fanfic to have a girl/boy instead of a single gendered person. Like Crona from Soul Eater. Writing fanfics about him would be confusing.
And Kazuto(/Kirito) is a boy, his character model just looks like a girl. And I'm not referring to the wiki. Sadly, lots of the wiki pages on animes have incorrect information. I am getting my facts from the anime.

apparently in the soul eater manga they never actually portrayed corona in any gender, I think he's a bit of a grey area in this discussion, though if the anime hadn't said dude I'd guess girl because one of the things his sword does to him as punishment is lift up his dress

And yeah, In the manga it is never mentioned I don't think, but the current discussion is on Crona from the anime. So yeah, it's a win-win.
I don't usually trust the Wiki because it is made by whoever jumps on. In a lot of cases sadly, I find the information to be incorrect.

Do you have video tutorial? It would be awesome if you could do step by step videos of coloring. Coloring I have the hardest time, although I have picked up and learned from speed painting/stepbystepΒ tutorials I still can get the clean look I'm sure comes from how artists use their layers and tools to it's best.
