I think that there's a quiet minority of boys who like yaoi and girls who like yuri hiding away somewhere.Β  From personal experience I think that it's more common to find among the LGBT+ community

Lately I've been finding more and more boys who like yaoi (girls liking yuri not so much, sadly) and it makes me happy, it's really a bummer when someone just clicks on yaoi/yuri material to criticize it. Maybe it's because people is slowly becoming more open minded and not just sexualizing it, because I've seen both heterosexual and LGBT+ people liking both genres.

I agree!Β  I've noticed a difference in attitude towards m/m and f/f pairings as time has gone on, too- I remember when I first became an active internet user (at about age 14) I didn't quite understand stuff about same sex pairings so I thought it was all weird (/bad and taboo) stuff.Β  It took me a long time to realize that there's nothing inherently wrong with healthy same sex couples.Β  And along the way I discovered stuff about myself so I'm glad for that.

But I digress Β  I say keep your chin up- I think that the more people make m/m and f/f content the more people will come around to eventually accepting it as normal.Β  There are girls out there that like f/f content... and girls who may not even realize it yet!

This is me but genderbended (well i have only a sister but she doesn't say shit about it) but for me idc about yaoi or yuri but i like things like that that are more about romance than the fuck itself and if the characters are naturally homosexual or any other sexuality that involves romance between the same gender i will probably accept it more because it makes more sense like ships were one of the guys is straight it feels weird and kinda forced in a way and defeats the whole purpose of lgbt+ love.
