I don't feel like someone should have to like both. i like Boys love but I'm not into Yuri. That's my preference. I think it's the audience each is aimed at. Like Yuri (in my mind) is usually all boobs in your face (since it's aimed at men), while yaoi tends to have more plot and romantic (since it's aimed towards women) but not always. I've enjoyed the hell out of some yuris and absolutely hated some yaoi.

I believe you're confusing Yaoi with Boys love. Yaoi is not very romantic and is usually straight to the sex. Boys love is usually the softer side of it and focuses more on romance. Yuri tends to be more softcore except when its not ( as there are hardcore and even rapey yuri things ) . But anyway, Yaoi and boys love in the way they're written and presented are two different things.
