O_o the hell? I actually dropped yuri because they were way too romantic and diabetic, they were like shoujo on steroids. Yaoi usually goes more straight to the point, my only problem with Yaoi is that most of them have too much rape or a blurry real consent, while I dont see much rape in Yuri in the same proportion... In my opinion is really the opposite, Yaoi tends to be way more agressive than Yuri, most Yuri readers just want to see kawaii waifus, while some Yaoi readers just basically want the bottom to be raped...

Yuri is basically shojo-ai whit sex scenes. Yaoi on the other hand is pure porn with little to no plot.

I wont say all of them are like this, because there are good titles in Drama and Comedy for Yaoi, but yes is the minority unfortunately. That's why some people rather stay in Shounen-Ai.

Shounen-ai is basically boys love now. While gay romance stories are under the female demographic manga named Josei.

Yep, I know, I read all these genre for 15 years Lol But people also use just "Yaoi" as a generic word for anything with gay protagonists/content involved just for easier usage. For example, people will call Yuri on Ice as Yaoi, even though is advertised and labeled as Romance/Sports. The thing is that we have a more clear separation for heterossexual content, something that is labeled Mature is different from just plain Hentai, meanwhile Yaoi/Yuri are still a bit blurry and people will keep using it for gay content, regardless what kind of gay content it is.

to me its kinda hard to find a good romantic yaoi with a plot, 80% of the plots i know goes to "everyones magically gay and then sex"
im also picky with the artstyles, so its hard to find something well drawn with a deep plot XD

Try Dokyuusei. It's a pretty good boys love movie. Really sweet and feel good. There are other boys love manga too that are really good. You just have to look for them.

ROMANCE IS ROMANCE and I personally like yuri and yaoi because in those stories, the couple is way more likely to eventually "do the do" than in het romance mangas (closest i normally get is just ecchi genre or fanservice in those). hnnng. Like, I'm not here for upskirt shots and nosebleeds. I'm here for the real deal. I love "pure" (blech, that term) romance stuff too, but sometimes a grown woman needs a little more lmaoo.
SO anyway, if I want some mature romance where the payoff will be sexytimes, my go-to is girl x girl or guy x guy.

Exactly this to me too! There are way too little heterossexual mature stories with real content or at least "good taste" content, you either get a cliche overly pure romantic story or a hardcore hentai with no story at all.
At least in Yaoi/Yuri you have more chance to get a better mix of good story in a mature plot. Excluding the ones that are just porn ofc xD
That's why lately I have been reading more webcomics than manga, japanese culture has too much taboo around sex. The style is awesome, but I dont think the anime/manga industry sees the full potential of its grown up audience.

You really hit the nail on the head with how I feel about this as well. A lot of het romances, if they are mature, it's like "hey oh no! [MC] just walked into the bathroom of the apartment they are suddenly sharing with [Female Interest] and BOOB HAPPENED, you're welcome." Like, no, that's not enough for me?? And that's another thing though, a lot of het mature romance is catered to men with a weird/dumb male protagonist and I'm sitting there like "nahhh, i'm not your demographic." So it's just frustrating, if anything.
Webtoons are my jam lately too. The art is really A+ and the stoylines (that I've encountered) are pretty well thought out and engaging. Basically, with webtoons, I don't normally have to care too much about if the relationship is guy x girl, girl x girl, or guy x guy because I'll normally enjoy it anyway. I haven't encountered a ton that delve into the more mature (as in bow chika wow wow) stuff, but the refreshing stories make up for it a lot.
Because, a lot of manga is purely recycled storylines to the point of it being pretty darn stale at times. So, like, if it's something I've seen before and not meeting my needs then what's the point?? Ugh, this was a huge ramble and I doubt if half of it was coherent, I'm so exhausted? LOL

Haha, but I understand your ramble, it's totally how I feel too. The jokes are so re-used in anime, the industry just seems to have become a try-hard next-big-mainstream-shounen machine lol... actually I read/watch manga and anime since I was young and even 15 years later the storylines just keep being recycled over and over. I agree with you that even though webtoons not always go mature, just the refreshing of stories is enough to finally find some good quality reading. It's one of the things that inspired me to give it a shot to draw my own stories too, and I think considering how accessable webtoons are, it has potential to grow a really good variety! It gives me hope the anime style can finally refresh and revamp its current reputation.

Hi there! Webtoons definetely started with korean web manhwas but has since then open the doors to western creators produce and distribute their own work in manga style, which is now being mixed in platforms like Tapastic and Webtoons . Usually these platforms are separated between Free content (where any creator can post their work) and Premium content (where pros post their official serialized series, but you may need to pay to unlock certain chapters). In these platforms, if your series does well enough in the Free category, they may move to the Premium category and you actually become a real paid author with salary and all : ), so because of that, you can find some real gems in the Free category.
Though if you want a platform with only korean authors, there is Lezhin Comics , but they are a full premium platform, with no Free category, but you are still allowed to read the first chapters for free to check if you like the story. Although Lezhin Comics is open for any genres, their big arsenal is in Romance and Boy's Love, but they do have a category for only Girl's Love: www.lezhin.com/en/top100
Unfortunately I have only be digging Boy's Love lately, so I can't recommend you many titles out of that ;-;, but I have been caught on a premium comic in Tapastic called Winter's Night that got me very curious and I believe it's going to be fxm but the genre is Drama/Adventure not Romance (there are many free chapters open to read at the moment). But if you want Romance-Romance I used to enjoy a lot Orange Marmalade (Free) although at first I was skeptical about the vampire theme, and Something Abous Us (Premium) that has a more mature vibe. But if you want any other genre, just dig these platforms and you will find some really cool stuff, there's a lot of Action and Adventure as well!
