My brother never asks me to teach him how to draw but most of my friends does. I'm a terrible teacher so I usually ask them to go with how they're drawing now and just practice. Evn tho my art isn't too good... :C

That's how my little brother was when he was 12. I refused to teach him after that because he wouldn't listen and got frustrated quickly and got mad at me for it xD

There's actually a scientific explanation for this. Basically, at some point a kid wants to draw something that looks exactly like what it looks like in real life. They lose focus on originality and only copy things like from cartoons and toys. When it doesn't turn out right they give up and never get a hold on art ever again. As adults their still stuck at this phase and give immediately. Well I think that connects to this picture XD

I try teaching my siblings to draw and after a few minutes they tune out. I find drawing to be an awesome way to tell stories and convey ideas, I wish they did too.

My sister does the EXACT same thing. I'll maybe get out the top half of the first sketch and she just leaves.

Every time I try to teach my sister how to draw she gives up because she is too tired and then she goes back to playing on her iPad and I'm just sitting there, silently judging her...

Oh gosh, I had that same kind of reaction with a neighbor, though she just decided after asking me to teach her that she just wanted to do it herself.

I tried teaching 3 people to draw and they all gave up before I even got to the hair ;n;

My little sis did kind of the same thing. Except she was all "okay I got it now, thanks!" Then 15 minutes later she came back, showed her the same thing as before, then repeat a few times.

I tried doing this with my brother (this is when I was eleven, I'm thirteen now) when he was nine, I got pass the face part and then when I went to do the body, I allowed him to try and it ended up becoming a penis XD typical brothers

Every time my cousins visit and they see my sketch pad or me drawing they jump at the chance to ask me teach me how to draw!
Then I say well I always start with the head they try it doesn't come out the same as me they say this is wrong I don't want to anymore...
*I cry internally* then I brush it off since they already draw they just need to learn their own way
