I remember someone making the same mistake with me once in high school. My sister was just walking by and one of my friends pointed at her and said "She likes you," to which I remarked, "That's my sister, you dumb***."

I don't think this has happened to me, but I get the slinking suspicion that is what people are thinking when I'm with my sister. Interestingly enough I only get that feeling when I'm with my youngest(yet older) sister who looks most like me.

It happens to me a lot with my brother. He's younger than me but taller than me. He also looks the same age as me. People would also think that we are twins.

There was a situation like this with me and my big bro too - he was meeting some friends in front of a mall and we were walking with our family(after a celebration outside) and his pals said "Hey man what happened with your gf? Who's that new chick?" I laughed my ass off!!! XD Given that me and bro are 7years apart! Hahahaaa that was really hillarious! I was just like your sis in the last panel! XD

Had this happen to me at Nan Desu Kan a few years back. I went there with my cousin who was in high school at the time, I was dressed as Shizuo Hewajima and she as Nana. Anyways during Saturday night we went to the Taco Bell down the street from the convention (while still in costume, which every fast food joint within walking distance of the DTC during the second weekend in September has all but gotten used to by now). As we were finishing up one of the workers came by and asked us if we were a couple. I kinda felt bad for the guy since we busted out laughing and had to calm down before we could explain our relationship. As it turns out he was playing wingman for his coworker who was trying to ask my cousin out, but she already had a boyfriend (whom I met later) so no dice.

I have also been on the receiving end of such assumptions. It's always me and my twin brother; it's annoying and so awkward.
