first time i met pokemondonβt know where senior Henry is now but thank you so much for showing me pokemon red back then
thus i fancy gen 1 the most but my first pokemon game was gold^^

I think the newest gen that was out when I was getting into it was third gen, though I started playing with the first gen games since a family member gave me a hand-me-down Game Boy Color and all their games with it, including Pokemon Yellow and Blue. I still have that GBC today, actually! The thing that really got me into playing the games though was when I would see some of the older kids at my daycare playing games like FR/LG or R/S/E, and when they'd actually ask me for help in beating certain parts, since I used to be the go-to kid for Pokemon info from watching the anime non-stop.
Easily my most fond memory was helping a friend beat Wattson in Emerald! He handed me his GBA SP and asked me if I could beat him, and it was a genuinely tough battle for someone who had never fought him before! All I remember my friend having at the time was a Grovyle, and I actually wound up grinding it up to the level it learned Leaf Blade before I was able to beat Wattson with it. ^^
I do also have a lot of fond memories playing Soul Silver when I was younger too, but I think this comment's gone on more than long enough. XD

1st Gen onward. I never cared much for the series (I found it boring to play halfway through) until Gen VI, when I could do some trainer characterization. I think Gen V was neat in terms of plot.

Don't really play pokemon anymore though. I loved all the games up to ruby/sapphire/emerald then after that gen I lost major love for the game...pokemon designs just became goofier after R/S/E. Yes there's the ocassional pokemon design that pops up that I think looks cool, badass or cute but most of them just look goofy/gay to me, to the point were I'm strugling to build my team of six.
I never managed to complete Diamond/Pearl and Black/White, just found them too boring plus with the lack of awesome pokemon designs to get me pumped just yah my pokemon love remains in the first 3 old gens

Dad came back from a trip overseas and brought back game boy colors when I was young, he gave my twin older brothers red and Blue, I was super jealous until He gave me the Yellow version. I was so happy cause it was like a special version just for me haha. Having that little Pikachu following you around was the best.
