first time i met pokemondonβt know where senior Henry is now but thank you so much for showing me pokemon red back then
thus i fancy gen 1 the most but my first pokemon game was gold^^

My first generation was the first one as well, though I think I prefer the second generation. The story was better and it brought in more ghost pokemon. I always loved the Ghasty evo-chain though, so I keep a Gengar on every team.

I played pokemon red first too-I remember my older brother would hand me his gameboy pocket with red sometimes when I was bored and getting antsy in the car. lol, all I did was go in the grass and catch a million pidgeys. And then I named them all Jack. Spelled as "Jak."

I can't recall, but it was either Blue or Silver that I first played, since it was what my bro had. But, Pearl is what really got me into Pokemon. And, either I'm nostalgia blind or Pearl is just that great, but no other games seem to compare, and I would choose it over any others. Hell, Platinum wasn't even as good, and it's a sequel to Diamond and Pearl.

I was there for the first one. Pokemon Red. And a (Yellow) Gameboy Pocket. Both courtesy of my Aunt, but it was the show that got me into it.

I'm gen 2, but I always loved gen 1 a little more. I always played old games and I grew up with a lot of "old" things. I also listened to old music. (I still do!) I wasn't very much into our generation, but I eventually learned to appreciate what we have now. The first PokemonΒ game I ever played was Red, and it was on my friend's Gameboy. I was 7.Β
I still love the old ones more than the new ones, although I think they are fun too. ^-^

i started with red too, but my first time *really* playing pokemon was on silver, because the red i had was just a rom and in english which i did not yet speak back then XD hach it was still fun...

I'm gen 1. Β First game was Yellow. Β The games were the last thing I got into and are the only thing Pokemon that I'm still interested in. Β Stopped watching the show, stopped collecting cards and so forth. Β But the main series games...I still love them, 719 Pokemon later.
I self introduced myself to Pokemon, it was inevitable back then (1998-99) But my friend was the one that got me started on the games. Β I still have everything from way back then.

I was a first Gen red version player. I was pretty young but I remember a friend of mine playing his copy of blue and saying something like "If you get the other game I can beat the crap out of you too!" to which I'm sure my response was something like "Nu uhhhhh, Im gonna beat you!!!"Β
The competitive side was strong in me even as a kid XD 6 generations later I'm still battling my friends.

My first one was Crystal, we loved the anime and my sister got the game for me, it was love at first sight, or should I say first contact? Anyway, it was amazing, My PokΓ©mon Journey started there.

I have my uncle to thank for getting me into pokemon. ^_^ I knew about pokemon of course, but I wasn't allowed to buy the cards or watch the anime, and I didn't know much about the games. Then for my birthday my uncle got me "one of those pokemon games that was all the rage", which happened to be gold version. I was hooked. I've owned every game made since then. I'm only missing silver, ruby and sapphire (which I used to own and still have the box for, but a neighbor kid stole mine). Of the original first gen games though, I currently only own blue, I used to have yellow but stupid much-younger me traded it years ago. OTL oh how I wish I hadn't... But I'll get another some day, and red.

Oh man, those old pokemon games were great. I was part of the Pokemon red/blue generation and was already growing out of it by the time Gold came around but I did dabble with it a little bit.

well, i have notice about Pokemon from the first generation, the first series, when arrived to sud-america and in japan they were playing the silver and gold. So technically, i have play pokemon from the first generation while in japan they where playing the second generation

When it comes to games, I'm a gen 3 guy.
Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald and FireRed (I had LEafGreen, but it refused to work XD); I started with those.

I played the hell out of Kanto, Jhoto, and Hoenn. I skipped generation 4 out of waning interest, but I tried White Version and almost got to the Elite Four. But with so many games being pumped out now, I feel already lost and behind again. Maybe that's where I belong. At least Gens 1 and 2 had their own Pokemon Stadium games.

Silver was my first game but I grew up on both Red and Blue.
Crystal would have to be my favorite, though, seeing as Johto is my favorite region and I love Suicune so much.
