I read from a few comments that something happened between BEN and Link, like Link did something horrible to BEN. What exactly happened?

Link never did anything to BEN.
See, Benjamin Rivers was a normal, 13 year old game lover. His dad was a distant, abusive drunk. Well, Ben's mom left but was unable to take Ben with her. His dad did what he could to move on and one day Ben and his dad were out. They walked by a game store and he saw a poster for the new Legend of Zelda game, "Majora's Mask". He begged his dad to get it for him, which he did.
Ben spent all night playing that game. His father started to realize how much Ben looked like his mother and how much he was like her with his personality, which made him angry. He told Ben, " Hey, why don't we go to the lake. Bring your game cartridge with you too." So, Ben having the innocent naïve mindset, he did as his dad said.
Well, when they got there, him and his dad walked up to a circle of strange people in black coats and hoods. His dad nodded to them and they drowned Ben in the lake, using some sort of witchcraft technique to trap Ben's soul in the game. His dad took it back, tore off the sticker, and wrote 'Majora's Mask' on it. Years later, his dad decided he'd play it, but the game was glitching. He noticed that Link would randomly burst into flames or Navi would start saying weird things. The thing that was weirdest to him was The Elegy of Emptiness statue that kept randomly appearing.
He figured it was nothing until Link was with some weird moon thing (I don't know a lot about the game itself, you can watch the gameplay on YouTube.) and the lettering was all jumbled and strange. He got the Orcania (sorry if that's spelled wrong) and played the 'Song of Healing', but it played backwards. It said 'You played the Song of Unhealing' and then Link burst into flames. A file showed up under 'Link' and he opened it, only to find Link laying on the ground, not moving. The level shut off and another file came up called 'Your Turn' this time he was playing and Link was glitching badly. He died by being burnt, and then another file showed up. This one was called 'BEN'. In this file BEN would randomly appear as the statue. At one point, the game says, 'BEN is getting lonely...' And his father made Link go and find him, where the level shut off and it said, 'You shouldn't have done that...' His dad was freaked out by this point. Next, a file came up named 'Drowned'. Well, his father played the game, only to have Link be forced into the Zora Mask outfit. He went under the water, where he found BEN yet again.
The statue started glowing and Link, in the water costume, drowned. Then, the text showed up saying, 'Please... Help me...' And his father shut the game off at that point. He went to bed and had horrific nightmares about that statue. He figured it was his nerves and went back to play the next night. Except...the last file was called 'Matt' which was his name. He played and, again, Link died. This time, though, his father was sucked into the game. That way, BEN killed him and the house went for sale.
Its later said that some people that moved in found the game and BEN victimized them as well, but that's a side story. BEN is Different from Ben.
Mainly because:
1. Ben Rivers was his human form.
2. BEN Drowned is a cocky little jerk to people and has more confidence then he did before he was a demon.
3. BEN does sometimes revert to Ben.
Now, BEN actually doesn't hate Link. He hates the players because he feels that they don't understand what he went through. BEN actually has a bit of a Fanboy crush on Link XD
