messing with colors and sizesit has been...a long time since i have drawn bloodspill. maybe 4 years. I almost forgot how to draw her, and had to reference my old work. I didnt change her too much... she is totally the most unrealistic character that will be included in the new comic, but I think that will be alright since complete realism isnt a goal. She is my favorite character design I have ever made by far so the idea of changing her too much is a bit upsetting. Her old palette though that I had on character sheets was sooooo neon so that needed some work).
still dont know if im going to go with those markings on SKs back, so as usual, with these concepts, please assume all character work is temporary until i post a Final Character Design Sheet for him/her!
Edit: In the new story, relations between characters are not necessarily the same as they were in the old story (i.e. these 2 may or may not be siblings.) I am also going to be withholding posting much information when i post drawings of characters because I dont want to spoil anything!
Edit2: adjusted palette on bloodspill because i remembered my cintiq colors are super red

Personally, I think you should leave them siblings. I know that I cannot see them any other way. Ultimately its up to you and I know whatever you come up with will be awesome!

Oh man, this brings back some memories...
I remember finding out about the BBA when I first joined DA back in '07. Bloodspill was the character I instantly fell in love with. Glad to see that she hasn't changed too much!

I really missed this comic.Β It'll be nice to see the reboot, though!Β I really like these designs, especially Swift's little muzzle notch and their back markings.

Heh to me Blood looks more realistic and closer conformation-wise to a wolf, while Swift is more coyote-like. They are talking wolves ffs, they don't need to be realistic. Body shapes and color, and hairstyle, are suppose to show us a glimpse of their personalities, before we get to see them in action. It's not like you are drawing them to resemble horses, or giving them a nonsense conformation(reversed joints or something) and calling them realistic wolves, now that would be weird xD Besides, we have pink ponies with legs that make no sense at all, and no one is complaining

I just hope the two will stay sisters.
I liked their different nature and kind of design ... I don't know, it has the typical "how different siblings can be, but still love /Β respect each other" vibe to it.
Especially since they are always together and such.
It would be really interesting to see how they got raised as siblings, if they had any other (half, full or which who died) and why they have gotten so close, while Riptide and Spearheart aren't.
Just hoping to see them back as sistersΒ together and why they developed like they are now.

Um, I had a thought for bloodspill if you want to be more realistic?Β
First, I respect you for your designs, so I am not telling you what to do or anything..I just have a simple suggestion/thought.Β
Anyway, I know realism isn't a main goal, but to make it seem more realistic, you could make the red 'fur' on Bloodspill really be tattoo paint or something? I know from your comic they seem to have tattoo markings, and perhaps Bloodspill's red fur could really be her fur dyed (painted) red earning her, her name Bloodspill? Perhaps, her natural colors could be the tan under-belly and the rest of her is black like her legs, but she is just painted with red as a symbol to her title "Bloodspill"?
Just a though that popped in my head I thought I'd share with you if want to have Bloodspill be the way she is and get away with being semi-realistic? Just a thought.

I'm really liking these character revamps! The designs are really appealing, IMHO, and they look like they're fun to draw! Β Nothing more obnoxious than designing a character you initially like, but loath the idea of ever having to redraw them from different angles. Hehehe.Β

I love the changes you've made to them both! Swifts little notch on her nose, the light marking on her back and the dark red stretching all the way up to her shoulders now... Her back legs and front feet! Now that i think about it there are loads of little differences but she still looks so much like...well, herself! Blood looks great with her little back marking too.
Its sad to know they might not be sisters anymore, but I think it might actually be even better if they aren't sisters in blood, but in bond? I trust whatever you do with them will be great nonetheless!Β

I think that if Swiftkill and Bloodspill are not siblings, it would be more logical, since they... don't really resemble each other.
It seems... weird to me, since to my eyes Swift' and Blood' have always been sisters...
But It would be pretty cool, actually, seeing which relationship they would have !
