As some of you know, I have a habit of constantly changing my designs for Mheetu. Originally he was a Sarafina x Scar cub, but now I decided he is a Sarafina x.... Ni cub.

Ni is young when he meets Sarafina and Nala. About a year old. Which I equate to 18-20 in human years. He saves Nala's life and Sarafina is so grateful that she takes him in for a little bit. Luckily the hyenas don't really patrol the area her den is located. Ni reminded Sarafina of someone in her past.. her mate that had sadly passed away from a heart attack. They were both so kind, and so gentle. Or maybe Sarafina was afraid of Scar's recent attempted advances on her, and desperately wanted someone - anyone - else.

Sarafina asked if he would do her the favor of fathering her next litter, and explained the Pride's situation involving Scar. "But what if the cub comes out looking like me? What will your King to do you?"

"I don't care. I just.. can't stand the thought of having another cub with that monster."

"Nala is his daughter..?"

"No." Sarafina shook her head. "My poor innocent Kiara passed away of illness because of the lack of food.. And Scar so desperately wants to simultaneously punish me for no fault of mine and also gain an heir he can manipulate to be just like him... I don't have the heart to bring a cub like that into the world..."

Ni and Sarafina sat in silence as he pondered their predicament. He finally spoke up after what seemed like forever. "You would be my first..."

"I'm sorry." Sarafina replied.

And so Ni spent almost a week with Sarafina. Any more time and they would risk being found out by Scar. There was no knowing if Sarafina was pregnant, but they could only hope. Before Ni departed, Sarafina told him of another Pride that would take him in - the one her dearly departed mate came from.

As Ni made his way through the grass, his face was filled with worry and concern. He hoped nothing would happen to Sarafina and Nala. Maybe one day he would return.

So yeah this is my last design change for Mheetu. Any more and ya'll can shoot me.

Nala is about 6 months old when Ni comes around, and by the time Mheetu is born she is 9 months. Scar didn't pay much attention to the male cub Sarafina had given birth to, as a quickly maturing lioness was catching his attention.

But by the time he did notice?

Let's just say he took his anger out on an innocent.
