Im getting all psyched up about "Maleficent"The Movie is in production and will be released only in 2014
but the photos that are starting to leak on to the web are stunning.
The Story follows Sleeping Beauty but is told from the point of view of the villan Maleficent, wich will be played by the stunning Angelina Jolie.
hopefully it wont be as Juvenile as "Mirror Mirror"
Now all I have to do is wait two years
Here is my take on Angelina Jolie as Maleficent done completely in photoshop from scratch.

Beautiful! I like Maleficent with her long hair too. BTW, I hope you saw the movie by now. I did last week and it is a really good movie.

I guess you are a Sleeping Beauty purist huh? I do get that often when I talk about the movie. Believe it or not, I do belong in the purist category and I certainly do have some issues with the new film. Most of the twists I could accept, but there were a couple that I just...well, I still don't accept them. I will say that the whole first half of the movie showing Maleficent's background, how she was betrayed right up to the christening of Aurora, I just loved it and it was near perfection. The second "Sleeping Beauty" part is where I have most of my issues.
Another thing is that I am not a die hard fan of Angelina Jolie. I do like her, but she isn't my favorite actress. BUT I do admit, she did a wonderful job with portraying Maleficent and lifting her to new level of beauty and loveliness. She really gave Maleficent true depth of character and turned Maleficent from someone I admired into someone I adored.
Will I get the movie on DVD? Most certainly. BUT BUT BUT...I still will have a heart for old Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. She truly was deliciously evil!

Lol agreed... It would have been better if they focused on the story leading up to Auroras birth and not have altered the end of the story that they themselves have written.
I didn't care for the whole mother daughter story-line and I think they really sinned in completely destroying the family unit of King Stefan and Queen Leah turning them into the most horrid and twisted dysfunctional Disney family ever.
I was really disturbed by that.

Oh, so you are thinking they should have stuck with the film plot as more of a prequel than a retelling. I didn't mind the retelling, but I would have liked to have seen it somewhat closer to Sleeping Beauty.
I was OK with the mother-daughter story line. The things that put me off the most were that she didn't turn into the dragon and how she got her wings back. That just seemed like a rushed afterthought.
When I first saw the movie, I was expecting her to lose her life in the end like what happened in Sleeping Beauty. Granted they could have made it more touching in that in her death throws, she realizes her wrong doings and repents.
As for the family unit of the King and Queen...well, sometimes it does boil down to point of view. To most humans, King Stefan was probably a good king and Queen Leila a good queen. Of course for those close to the family, you could see that wasn't the case. The movie does exemplify that sometimes us human beings can really be monsters ourselves. We have a tendency to destroy natures beautiful gifts for our own personal gain. This was something that very much touched me in regards to what Stefan had done to Maleficent to move his life forward, but he ended up ruining hers. He would have had a much better and richer life had he stayed by Maleficent's side. He had the love of a very unique woman that has magic powers and could fly. I know if I were Stefan, I would have wrapped my arms around Maleficent and never let her go...ever.
