Description
Alternate title: Rock Beats... Rock?Felix, from the Golden Sun games, getting his behind handed to him by Toph, from the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon in the style of the webcomic Order of the Stick. Made in Inkscape.
This is an idea that's been wandering around my head for some time, and I've finally managed to get it into a visible form. There's no doubt, of course, that Toph would win handily; Felix is powerful, but he's never fought anyone who sees with Earthbending before.
My curse (which I don't think I've mentioned here before; basically, there's always one thing I intend to include but forget about) seems to have hit Toph's headband this time.

It would be an even fight since adepts have increased endurance and their powers never miss.

Don't know who this Felix guy is but he can't hold a candle to the Blind Bandit!

I suspect you'll find some of the other commenters here disagree with you.
Basically, Felix is the Earth-mage protagonist of the GBA RPG Golden Sun: The Lost Age. And I suspect that, if Toph were sighted but didn't have tremorsense, it'd be a pretty even fight.

Even with tremorsense, psyenergy never seems to miss.

True. But then, Toph specifically doesn't need line of sight, whereas it's reasonable to believe Adepts would, so she could hide herself and strike with relative impunity.

That is where Quake Sphere and other potentially hit everywhere move come in. Plus, Toph might have staying out of sight due to the fact her move are based on martial arts.

Does this mean she can take on the Doom Dragon, or Deadbeard if she's so powerful?
Seriously it is a tad annoying when people constantly see Toph as some overpowered God of the whole universe.
She is good at earthbending. She can bend Metal. That's nice.
Is any of that gonna do her any good against this:

Yeah, who's out of what league now?

... No, she probably couldn't solo the DD, or probably even the Fusion Dragon. But could Felix?
As far as Judgement is concerned, mostly it's just a bunch of huge rocks hurtling around, right? We saw how she handles that sort of thing way back in Blind Bandit. Also, I would remind you of the Gaang's first encounter with Combustion Man - Toph managed to regain her footing, steady herself, and strike back, all before the rest had finished rolling from the first explosion's shockwave.
And, really, let's look at this in context. Who, in Toph's world, could beat her in a one-on-one, non-ambush fight? Possibly Bumi, who is a mad genius and looks like he's spent every day of the last hundred years honing his earthbending. Definitely any Avatar, at least once they've gotten past the basics. Probably Combustion Man, who's got a completely unique form of firebending that doesn't involve waving limbs or shifting stances - probably the next thing to invisible, to Toph. Apart from that, her only real weaknesses are flying enemies and large groups.

"Whatever you say, The Pebble."
'Sides, after the thing I'm working on now Felix'll owe her one, so if she needs it she's got Sekrit Backup.

THE BOULDER IS NOW OVER HIS HESITATIONS AND WILL CRUSH YOU LIKE A BUG.
This Felix person can stand against the might of THE BOULDER? (That guy's just hilarious in his wrestler attitude. Too bad he didn't have that much screentime.)

"Gotta get to me first, Boulder."
Could be, could be. He did at one point beat up three gladiators, albeit not single-handed. I don't honestly know how he'd stack up against The Boulder, but if nothing else he can provide a brief distraction.

Oh Toph. So awesome, and yet so deceptively tiny.
Felix would get pwned by Toph so hard. DUDE, IT IS POINTLESS, SHE IS LEVEL 99 WITH HAX STATS! Except maybe HP. ....Spam Odyssey! It's the only way to be sure!

Bah! I admit, Felix is good, but he's entirely out of his league here. Toph can see anything that touches the ground, and she's got insane levels of skill and raw power - see, for instance, any time she faces the Dai Li. The Ragnarok and Spire Psynergy lines are about the only things Felix could do that Toph couldn't see coming and deal with before they got to her.
Besides, could you concentrate enough to Odyssey someone right after they've punched you in the face with a pillar of rock?

As much as I love Toph, and I looooooove Toph <3, I gotta defend my boy Felix here. If Felix can throw out an Odyssey after the Doom Dragon unleashes a Cruel Ruin on his ass, he can handle a little girl throwing rocks. :>

...Point, if you're going to play on that side of the Gameplay and Story Segregation line. But I'm pretty sure he could only shout "Odyssey!" so many times before Toph figures out a way to deflect, redirect, or block it. After all, the only person who came close to defeating her - gravity, though a harsh mistress, being not a person - was Combustion Man, and Combustion Man neither calls his attacks nor uses her element. So really it comes down to whether she has enough hit points to stand up long enough to get around Odyssey.

Now who ever said they have to scream out their attacks in Golden Sun?
Regardless of who wins, I think we can both agree the battle would be epic. And dirty. (Get it? Earth? Dirt? Who doesn't love wordplay, amirite?)

Oh, indeed.
'Course, if it gets too out of hand it'd spiral into a Gaang vs. Adepts revengefest, and that's no fun at all.

Ouch! Felix's gonna feel that in the morning! I just hope Isaac brought some paper along.
... You know, that doesn't make any sense whatsoever:
1. Rock beats Scissors: Smash scissors with a rock and they'll get bent.
2. Scissors beat Paper: Pretty obvious. That's what scissors are for!
3. Paper beats Rock: ... As Demetri Martin once said: " Rock is fine! No structural damage to rock! Rock can break through paper at any point, just say the word!"

...Perhaps Paper protects itself with iron sheeting when it goes up against Rock, but Scissors can slide under it to get to the soft papery center?
At any rate, that's not quite the direction I meant people to take the alternate title. It is, in fact, a reference to a quote from Toph's show. "Rock beats airbender!"

Yeah... Given that I play him over in a Livejournal RP, it's probably wrong how much I enjoy humiliating him like this.
On the other hand, he's probably the one who started it, and Toph is pure concentrated awesome.
