Of course, just the front of the skirt wouldn't look all that great. As a general rule, any piece of clothing that hangs in such a way that you could see it both in front of the wearer and behind is going to need a second, darker piece for the back part. I don't always make the back darker for capes, but I probably should.

Be certain to vary the shape a bit - it takes a fair bit of environmental control and a fairly precise camera angle to get both sides to line up that way.
