There's obviously a big decision to make at this moment, as I'm guessing this opening in the sky is a rare occurrence. The half-pony (judging by him and also by the close-up foot – half griffon?) is contemplating something big. It's very beautiful to stare at too, and hopefully he can get at least a minute to enjoy it while thinking. The story tells itself and it's very poignant.
