Description
Daz3D / PhotoshopHi all
With this image I was trying to achieve something more cinematic, and tell a story with a single scene. It was also a good excuse to get my head round Atmocam!
Model is Aiko 7 and the giant in the crystal is Michael 7(with blue skin). Both Atmocam and Godrays were used, with an HDRI and a few spotlights.
Colour correction and a couple of steam jets were added in Photoshop.
Thanks for looking

Does atmocam add a lot of render time, or is it a good way for me to acheive effects like this without having my render speed crash?Β

Can't tell you how much I love this Neil. Β I mean seriously dude *drools* Β I think you definitely achieved the cinematic quality you were looking for, the building doesn't even look like a prop and I absolutely LOVE what you did with the encased figure...tells an amazing story. Β Not one single think I don't love about it. Β Was this Iray or 3delight?

It's a great scene and definitely a story there. It has a great old-fashioned Space Opera feel with the derelict but elegant structures, the frozen giant and the little skeletons. What will happen when the explorers find a 'Power' button and hit it?

Hopefully something good I do love a space opera so it's mostly my inspiration for this. Thank you

I really like the giant in the crystal, with this POV you just feel how gigantic it is, and somehow feel that you're so much less, that this is something beyond your control. Also very good work on the lighting, with the front character working as a repoussoir and your eyes being sucked towards the middle.Β
Oh, and poor skeleton on the stairs. Nice detail.

Thank you, I really appreciate your feedback. Yeah, I felt that it was important to have a character close to the crystal to convey the sense of scale. The lighting was also very important, if it was wrong I don't think it would work. The contrast helps to frame the image. I was also careful with the placement of the handrail when positioning the camera do it lead into the subject matter, it helps to draw your eye to the main focus.
The skeletons were added to heighten the drama, I wasn't kind to them

So, what's the story? A group of universe-dwellers find a once destroyed civilization and a giant in immersed in the infinite sleep?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. A discovered legend, that could bring ultimate power or terrible destruction

I bet they'll open it just to try. And then there will be something like the doom of the end of the world, and they'll have to pack him up very fast, and they'll manage last minute and the world will get saved. That, or everything blows up.

Thank you very much. I certainly think with an image like this having the story worked out first helps to bring all the elements together. I'd be interested to hear from people what their version of the story is
