Description
Trying some new things.This was created for a project in my Philosophy class. We had to create a visual representation of the issues of personhood and personal identity that we discussed in class. This famous quote by Descartes does a great job of proving our own existence, which is the starting point for determining our own personal identity.

Descartes was a smart man. In a nutshell this quotation represents world order, for it forces people to acknowledge their own existence. In other words as Shakespeare put it "To be or not to be," Something cannot be something and not be something at the same time. You cannot eat a piece of cake and yet still be able to keep it. If someone were to say that the more people know, the more they understand that they know nothing - (Denial of thought). This would then lead down that path that they believe that there is no such a concept of what is reality - (Denial of existence). Then they commit the worst atrocity of all, they suppress those around them and claim by no moral order that because reality does not exist that their rights are more important then yours. (Denial of moral diplomacy)
So by saying that because we can think we exist, it forces people to take responsibility for themselves.
