This is the standard personnel shuttlecraft used by Starfleet in the mid 25th century. One of the first to make relatively comfortable interstellar travel a genuine possibility. With a high top speed and cruising speed, the Type 24 Shuttlecraft can make interstellar journeys in as little as a few days. An onboard replicator, small head, and convertible benches, make this shuttle far more usable over such a length of time. Standard shuttles of the previous century were very limited in range and use, especially those without a head.

Transporting up to eight personnel, the Type 24 Shuttlecraft is the go to for away teams when transporters are not viable.

The Type 24 Shuttlecraft is also much better defended—a trend which began in the later 24th century.

At maximum safe speed this ship will go 0.8986 light years in 12 hours. It can however go 3.88 light years at maximum cruise in 2.5 days.
