They are fairly common around here...so are coyotes, who like to come into town after dark and set  all the resident dogs to barking.

Hmm, no coyotes here either. The biggest we get is a few foxes coming into town.

Thank you!  Actually, I live in between the Gila forest and the Chihuahua Desert (near Silver City).  We get a little of everything here.  Still waiting to see an ostrich.

I am certain that she regards my garden as part of her turf...I suspect she is curious to see what I've done with the place and is wondering if I should be evicted.

I am fond of this one...I am told it is possible to befriend them, so if she starts showing up more often I will give it a try.
