Description *sigh* Bluefen is just too good for Swartt, does anyone agree with me?

Bluefen owned by Brian Jacques. You know how it is.

You've probably heard about this too many times, but I felt really, really pissed with bryony at the end. My only thoughts were "He sacrificed his life for you and you say he never did good? How ungrateful!" Granted, Veil was a nasty kid at first, but I also wonder how his mother would have reacted to his final act. And to bryony's conclusion.

Well, here is my answer to that:

What did Veil tell her to do before he died?

"Go back to your abbey."

And that's just what she did, respecting his last wishes.

But then, how could she live on in the abbey and with all those beasts who hated Veil and said he was no good?

Bryony could've said, "He WAS good, he DID change, he SAVED me, and you all said all he'd ever do is break my heart! You were all WRONG!"

But if she did that, how could she bear to live at the abbey? Who possibly could?

But Veil WANTED her to go back to the abbey.

So, it seemed her only logical explanation would be to say, "No, Veil was bad all along-" (which actually is true, because he was, after all) "-and I don't really know if he meant to take the spear or not."

But I think its safe to assume that Bryony knew in her heart that Veil did mean to save her, and that she would never forget him.

In fact, remember what she said about the waterfall? "It was so beautiful and yet so dangerous. I'll never forget it."

Somehow, the way how she spoke about it and the way how Sunflash reacted to her saying that, I wonder if she was actually talking about Veil? She kept saying how he was a beautiful baby, but we all know that he was dangerous.

So... yeah. Heh, sorry for the lecture, but yeah.

Bluefen: sorry, Swartt, it's not working out.
Swartt: W-What!?
Bluefen: I've found someone else.
Joseph the Weasel: serves you right! she's my girl now.
Swartt: (fume) fine I didn't like her anyway, you can keep her!
Bluefen and Joseph: Yaaaay!

Awesome it's Bluefen! Believe it or not, many people classify her as a villian, but she never did anything evil, in fact in my opinion, giving birth to Veil was a good thing.

Speaking of her. It says in the book that her father's horde had many families in it, so that means that there must have been more good vermin like her. but I'm guessing that many of them met thier ends during Swartt's campaign against the toads.

I'm writing a fanfiction of it called, "life in the horde"

I believe someone on a discussion forum on Redwall Wiki talked about that, saying that Bluefen deserved to be in the "grey" category. But the person in charge said that Bluefen hadn't necessarily done anything "good" either... but isn't that the point of being "grey"? Grey means "morally ambigious" doesn't it?

And besides, Bluefen was hospitipal and hard-working (she fetched her husband water in the desert and served the hordebeasts food during celebrations).

And yeah, the way how the vermin families were described: they were always trying to protect their families, plus before Swartt came along the horde had seemed to have contented themselves with being just farmers. But you're right, it did say a lot of them died when battling the toads.

How's the fic going?

pretty good, but I'm trying to learn how to send it, I'm a fairly fast writer, but I'm a little sparse on details, and I'm only allowed to use this computer for so long (its my brothers, not the anti-redwall one, but its still not mine) anyway the only reason I use the compuer is because the ps3 can't send videos or fafiction, and it can't access deviantart. but I plan on posting the first chapter tomarrow or the day after that.

Maybe you can get a hard-drive that you can save your files on and upload them onto a computer at school or at the library? That's what I've had to do in the past.

Yes, I definitely agree. Looking back, I actually kind of liked her. By the way, I love her eyes.

RE Title: NO KIDDING!

If only she hadn't died... it would've been interesting to see how things would differ had Veil not gone to Redwall... I'd think there would have been more of Bluefen reflected in Veil, then...

Yes, I have to agree. I've often wondered about that, too.

...Whoah. The expression on her face could not more clearly say, I am beautiful. I am cunning. I could not care less that I am saddled with an idiotic brute of a husband.
Second thought that entered my mind was, She totally belongs in a Redwall Cell Block Tango.
(No, I'm not hinting you should draw that. What a silly idea.)

Wow, I'm surprised you saw all that, because I wasn't thinking of anything when I drew it - other than Bluefen was too good for Swartt.

But heh, yes, that is silly.

Oh, you know me, I analyze everything into the ground. ^^

Laburnum has actually done a Redwall filk to Cell Block Tango- you can find it at her Pit O' Voles account and it's very amusing. Bluefen is in it, actually.
