Description
I have always been fascinated by human faces. That's why I like drawing portraits. As a related art form, I can't help but to be interested in learning portrait photography also. The knowledge I gained from knowing the use of light and interaction with lenses has helped me creating better images (both drawing and photography). I just hope to do the beauty of my model, Larisa Bakurova / 瑞莎, justice. I hope you like it."In photography, bokeh (Originally /ˈboʊkɛ/, /ˈboʊkeɪ/ BOH-kay, and also sometimes heard as /ˈboʊkə/ BOH-kə, Japanese: [boke]) is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image. The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility. The term bokashi (暈かし) is related, meaning intentional blurring or gradation." (Source: [link] )

I know it took a lot of patience to work on that straw hat. Beautiful piece.

This one is really good too, but it doesn't amaze me as much as your other drawings. I think it's because some of the elements look a bit flat. For example, It looks like the crease where her neck meets her should be darker. Also, I think the lines are maybe too defined in the hair. Like I said, it's really good all in all. I love the details of her eyes and teeth, and the shading of her nose looks perfect. Great job!

The reference didn't provide enough detail due to low resolution. I wish I had the experience to "guess" and add more detail to those area you've mentioned. Good learning experience however. Thanks for all your feedback

Really REALLY beautiful. The only thing I can even see that you might consider doing is adding a touch more volume to her hair, maybe darkening a swath under her ear, another where her hat and hair meet to deepen the shadow. Lighten a bit where the light which illuminates her face would glint off her hair. These are just stylistic things I would do, she really does look great as-is

Im sooooo jealous of your artworks! you are an artist! And thank you for sharing ur art to the rest of the world. To me it gives a lot of inspiration to go on with practising drawing portraits or even just something realistic! Im not yet as far as good as your are, but you are for me an example that it is possible to make something like this. (cause i lose quite often my confidence of drawing something realistic) Then i just take a look at your art and then i think come on just practice and then you can do it aswell!
So Thank you!

You can do it. If you keep a consistent record of you own work, you will see improvement over time. That really keep your motivation going.
Thank you for your kind words. It's great to know that others get inspired by my work.

Nope, she's an actress/model in Taiwan. Close guess though.

This portrait has a wonderful fresh feeling and crispness to it, with a beautiful smile. The large hat works well as a good bordering device for her face.
She looks like she's kneeling down, when looking upwards, which makes me wonder what she's doing - like is she doing a spot of gardening or picking strawberries perhaps?
Stylistically (I know it's not), this reminds me of a composite of two fashion photos of eighties model Georgina Bartlett - see [link] to see what I mean .
