Description

A week after returning home, Kyna met Kirraq in a clearing near her cavern. Dark clouds hung low, but held no threat of rain. Leading Arwa to the clearing took longer since the mare kept stopping to eat and Kyna couldn't keep her walking forward. When they finally reached the meeting spot, Kyna was a bit surprised to see Kirraq brought quite a bit of equipment. Kyna's interest had always been the horses; she had never bothered to learn about tack. Axenus grazed on the long grass while Kirraq leaned against a tree, staring at her.

“You're late,” Kirraq stated quietly.

“Sorry, woke up late,” Kyna replied, not meeting his eyes. An explanation would just start the day off rough. If he knew she had been out thieving, he would just give her a lecture. She patted Arwa's nose and tied her to a tree. “Do we really need all of that?” She pointed at the pile of packs and equipment.

“We will eventually, with jump training. Today I am just going to show you the basics, so you can at least get Arwa to listen to you. Do you know how to put tack on?”

That afternoon Kirraq walked Kyna through how to correctly put on a halter and saddle, how to lead Arwa, and how to lunge.
