My watercolour work tends to be so dark and gloomy, so I tried to brighten it up a bit and make it more alive and colorful... Yet it still ended up having that subtle dark and sombreness to it... I tried.
I feel like I'm definitely becoming a lot more free and loose with my watercolour paintings. I've progressed from painting completely in lines, to being able to paint purely and expressively with complete freedom, and that excites me a little. I want to continue exploring watercolours and other traditional media too, maybe even incorporating inks and charcoal.

Well.... What I think is that, this piece of work is actually bright and gives a warm feeling, but the expression and the dark colors are stronger and take away the warmth.
A small smile, a little wider eyes that look like their curious and more brighter colors might just do the trick
anyway that's what i think.

Definitely! Well, in all honesty, I didn't really intend for it to be a 'bright and happy piece', it definitely was a darker idea, a sort of regality to it and rebellion. I was just a little concerned about how dark all my pieces are becoming hahaha. But things have changed a little though!

Somberness? I get defiance from her. The cold world is pored upon her and what comes of it is a gentle warmth. She looks back to see what her warmth has brought. Again a great piece.

Maybe sombre wasn't the right word. But definitely that darker side, defiance is just perfect way to put it!

Exactly! Same goes for me as well. I like to be intrigued and provoked by an artpiece to think and actually try to understand it. Those are the pieces that really strike me. That's why I want my work to be like that too, and so it means a great deal when people do take the time to do that for me.

It's fun to let loose a little when I paint! I find watercolours more enioyable and relaxing the more I paint with more freedom!
