When I was 15, I drew a full-length (well, sort of) comic depicting the storyline of Super Mario RPG. I look at it nowadays and I see it's positively awful - not only in terms of the artwork, but also how I handled the story, replacing real-time epic battles with simple narration, for instance - but just for kicks and giggles, I'm entertaining the idea of uploading the whole thing. Maybe it'll encourage some of you to know that, if I drew this badly once upon a time, there's hope for everyone. Either way, it'd still be a lot of work uploading it, because my artistic sense back then was terrible (somehow I didn't even realize that, if you're going to use color pencils on something, make sure you APPLY INK to the pencil lineart first, or it's just going to look like puke), and in order for the art to even be intelligible, I'd have to trace over the original with a Photoshop brush, as I've done here.

And apparently I had no idea what a "minion" was either. I believe I was shooting for something that suggested "underling," but in a non-bad-guy-ish way.

I look at artwork from some 15-year-olds nowadays, many of whom are on Starmen.net, and I'm impressed beyond words, since I know what my artwork looked like at that age. I still can't wrap my head around how it is my friends were in awe of tripe like this.

The more I look at this thing, the less I'm able to resist linking you to what my designs for the SMRPG characters look like nowadays. Please check this out for comparison:
