Description
This is a companion piece to the actual Portait of Dorian Gray already uploaded (I think), and was done for an educational magazine years ago. They wanted a piece similar to a portrait of Clive Barker I had done. Watercolor, about 12 x 14.Related content

That is VERY skillfully done. I especially love how you worked the colours on the left side.
And you have no idea how much i love that book.

wow! this is an awesome take on a great charater1
it's funny, a friend of mine and i were talking about dorian grey just the other day, compairing him to another topic, and then i saw this picture before reading the title, and thought about the the conversation we had, and realized that it's not only similar to him, but another interpretation of him. not only is it ironic, but very cool!
this picture is great! i love the colour and detain you put into it! great job!

just listened to "james blunt" with his song "tears and rain"... and some day's ago, i have had a little discussion with an beauty about dorian gray...
damn, is that name now following me?
but, nothing matters, i like that picture at the first second i saw it.
and it is all done with watercolor? wow! impressive! my old acryle paintings are nothing compared to it.

Okay... Okay, WOW. Your watercoloring skills are very impressive - your control of the color and effects are just beautiful. This particular piece makes up for all the slogging through that infernal story...
LOL - I saw the 1940's black-n-white movie done for "A Portrait of Dorian Grey" and I really liked it, so of course I went out to find the book. The book... Was a philosophical rant, not a thriller. Silly me. However, it has clearly inspired your wonderful artwork. You captured the essence of this guy just magnificently. I'm glad you decided to post the picture, even if you have had it around for a while.

Ahhh, I always wondered who Dorian Gray was. There is a song by the artist James Blunt which I sing called 'Tears and Rain' and it features the lyric 'hides my true shape, like dorian gray, I heard what they say, but im not here for trouble.' Its a beautiful song.
As for the painting its simply amazing. You have such a great talent. The colours are really amazing.
Congrats on the DD

This rules. I love the contrast and the duality of it. When I first saw it, I thought it was Two-Face.
Clive Barker portrait? Where is it?

in my world lit call we each had to doa commercial for a major work of fiction that we had read and my friend did dorian gray. lol well i played dorian gray despite being obviously female and we photshopped my face and it look suprisingly like your painting but not nearly as amazing.
i love the choice of color and the way you made it look very bold and yet they still melt together. i guess if i had to say something it would be about the nose. it is very good butmaybe the shadowing well not the shadowing but where it is the most pink is a little off. i am just very analytical so i would notice it. in no way am i trying to be rude just i was struck by your piece. i love it.
haha so just tell me to be quiet if you think i am wrong.
