I'd always assumed that each tile is about a meter, so Dwarf walls are pretty much indestructible because they're all a meter thick XD

dwarf fortress needs to get scale right, 6 foot wall can stop somthing that should be able to just step over it
and a gigantic dragon can fit threw a space to small for a wagon

Yeah, but is so funny to watch a Bronze Colossus outside the walls, without a chance to get in, or a Dragon in a tiny wooden cage
