This dwarf reminds me of Gotrek from the Felix & Gotrek books from the Black Library.
You should try and draw Felix and Gotrek, they are awesome characters and I'm sure they would look awesome drawn by you.

Outstanding! It looks like it is inspired by Warhammer... I love that system, though I play 40k exclusively. I just can't get behind another army right now (I say that, but I also just put together a box of ogre bulls...)
If none of that makes sense, and the resemblance of this piece to Warhammer gaming material is just happenstance... then ignor it all and accept my praise.

No, it's alright. Skaven are pretty exclusive to Warhammer, and although I don't play at all, the two folks who this piece was dedicated to do. I've also read quite a few of the Gotrek & Felix novels myself.

I like how you've done the blood on the heroes body - very effective. And I particularly like the hung of gore stuck on the axe blade, nice attention to detail.
I always thought the skaven made good baddies when I esed to play advanced heroes quest.

However, the background is too simple. It's good that you were trying to create contrast, but it's too much, or too little, rather. That's all I would change.
