"Ambush? What ambush?"Apparently goblins aren't too good at setting up surprise attacks. Something must have tipped the gnoll to their position. Any ideas as to what it could have been?
Watercolour, ink, casein on Twinrocker 200 lb. CP watercolour paper.

Awesome!!! Hmm what tipped the gnoll to their position? An angry scream like: " Stop stepping on my head you dwarf-loving , short nosed pile of rat crap!" Or maybe a random dart from a bow that landed 5 meters away from the gnoll , followed by an excited voice: "Did i got him?!?!"

This is awesome. I too use watercolors, but I don't think I'm so good at it. However, I like it more than any other media i've tried. It's just simple, and not complicated as people see it.

Yes, watercolor really is about being patient and letting the water do the work. It takes some practice to get the hang of, but it really is a versatile medium.

... if your goblins are anything like mine the Gnoll would have suspected an ambush right around the time the Goblin captain yelled the order "Right! Now quietly sneak up and attack him!"

I really like the sense of movement and action in this picture. The perspective does a lot for it. The face of the goblin in the very bottom right really communicates the mood of the scene. The colors are great, too. Awesome stuff.
