Description A Eurasian Robin, to compliment the Wren I last posted.

In British folklore, the robin is the bird of summer, and represents the God of the forest (Robin Goodfellow et al). The name Robin Hood was most likely inspired by this lore, as the figure hiding in the forest and serving the Saxon people was seen as "Robin (the God) in the hood." According to this lore there is a constant struggle between the robin (summer, life), and the wren (winter, death). This is borne out in many poems and rhymes, such as "Who Killed Cock Robin?"
