If you still didn't play the game yet, I have to tell you it's rather hard to compare those games. Original music fits original BoI, cute and stuff. The new OST fits this new, dark BoI.
Also, listen to new Sheol soundtrack. Still gives me a creepy feeling.

Pffft lol. Ok we can say ambient music is ok and can replace old tunes. But boss battle music? My Innermost Apocalypse and Enmity of Dark Lord.... Their sheer epicness, pressure, dark impact while they still perfectly create "AND STILL WE GO AGIANST ALL ODDS" feel .... This songs, you can say, are MADE specifically for Final Boss Battles. They're appropriate - you feel you reached THE END and this is IT. Boss Battle music of BoI: Rebirth... It's ok but nothing amazing and you can easily play final boss music on level boss and didn't notice difference. Seriosly while new soundtrack is good - it is not AWESOME as it was in original.

No in my opinion while being a good songs which have an epic and dramatic feel they lack one crucial part of old soundtrack - DRIVE. For example while Infanticide is epic and dramatic, it doesn't have this feel of struggle, of retaltion of old songs it is just ominous. If infanticide gives me the vibe "Here... YOU DIE ISAAC", my innermost apocalypse gives to this somewhat of answer "Here... YOU DIE ISAAC - BRING IT ON!". For ambient music rebirth ost also works same way - it creates atmopshere of despair and that everything is dark and gloom... But old ost did the same but sometimes from usuall soft instruments it would suddenly swithc to rock guitar to make you feel that while everything is so BAD- Isaac chose to fight the fate. C'mon it basically the point of whole game - Isaac struggles against world around him. In new OST we just get a feel of the world w/o Isaac in it - it's dark, it's dramatic, it's epic... But it lacks that sweet resistance feel which made it so perfect. For me at least. So in the end the new OST is good... It just kinda plaes in comparison how old OST made me feel about game. Instead of struggle against epic darkness it is now just epic darkness.

dude, whatever the fuck, Alright?.. don't care about your preference, I said that those songs are fucking awesome and in some respects, they're even better than the original, you just like the original better and that's fine.
I happen to like both soundtracks just as much, I only like certain pieces a hell of a lot better than others, like Ventricide over ..Be done, Hericide over Enmity of the Dark Lord and even Infanticide over My Innermost Apocalypse. What I like better with BoI vanilla is MIA over Ascension, because ascension lacked an urgency and feel of a final encounter that MIA and Infanticide both have, making it very underwhelming even to me. It's slow and even lame at some points, which is a shame, because it had the stuff of greatness to it..

what isn't fine for me is some people who feel this need to shit on rebirth constantly because of it, to Them I say fuck off and good day.. Rebirth has a fantastic soundtrack, how you like it is your business.
