I was unsure about her at first, and am still only slightly leaning towards liking her character, though I don't know why.
From first seeing her, there was nothing inherently dislikeable about her character, at all. It was however, quite clear that she was insecure (the covering the blank-flank with the tail was quite enough evidence there), so the second two douchebags whose names need not dirty this comment box, you could see where it was going, well I could, and I think I felt more pity than dislike.
I won't pretend I knew exactly what was going to happen in the episode, but I will say that I certainly don't dislike Babs, I'm just yet to warm to her.

Oddly enough, you're not the first person to say that about Babs. I think its the combination of the freckles (only the second pony I've seen to have them, I think, AJ being the other) and the mane which was a copy from one of the background ponies, but ultimately, I'm game with it. It must be hard to make THAT many different ponies, and not have some overlapping, or some less-than-amazing-but-still-ok looking ponies.
