Description I have a confession to make.

I've never read "The Great Gatsby" or "Ulysses".

In fact, I barely know how to read. I don't even know what I'm typing right now. I'm just hitting random letters and punctuation and hoping it fools everyone fishcakes; saddlebag me dingo.

The jig, it is up.

It might be wise to learn how to spell "pregnant" first...

Sorry, but you know how it is on the internet...

No 9 year old kid should be reading MacBeth. There are some very sick and twisted themes in that. Any kid who could comprehend that everyone died in the end for really stupid reasons would be depressed for a year.

These days, I'm more impressed by an 18 y/o who can actually use proper spelling and grammar.

...I really hate literary snobs. Seriously, I LOVE to read, but I hate literary snobs. XP

Never read The Great Gatsby, The Sound and the Fury, OR Ulysses. Macbeth is my favorite play, yes, but only because it was the first horror "movie" to come into existance and has lots of cool witches and floating knives and evil queens and stuff. *belch*.

(does it suck that sometimes *I* can be a literary snob? Oh well... Oftentimes the qualities I really hate in other people I find in myself.)

It vaguely irritates me when people boast about how early they read classic novels. Or famous science tomes. But that's cos I like to think I'm smart and feel threatened by people who used to be Einstein babies
I wasn't Einstein, I was just bossy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kevinbolk In reply to Takimashou [2011-05-07 20:43:41 +0000 UTC]

I agree, actually. Mostly because, rhonestly, how much could you have REALLY understood, say, Catcher in the Rye at 10 years old?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Takimashou In reply to kevinbolk [2011-05-07 22:23:15 +0000 UTC]

Or 'The Origin of Species'.
I read 'Brief History of Time' last year- did I understand an eighth of it?
...
no

Aren't three people needed in order for this gag to work?

Hence it's name, "The Three Yorkshiremen"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

agustinaldo In reply to agustinaldo [2011-03-25 09:50:57 +0000 UTC]

Actually, now that I remember it, it's "Four Yorkshiremen".

You need two more people in order for it to work.
