darkly ethereal... like a soul suffering in silent torment... she has fallen.. she will get through whatever is plaguing her... to stand back up and pick up the pieces of her broken spirit.
the warm glow about her is inviting, like you want to put your arms around her and comfort her... i wish i were as good as you.

Gosh I love the aora about her head. The color is so warm. I love the tones. The way her body glows. her pose. There is just so much emotion in the colors and textures. Your work has sooo much depth. All aspects of it. Its all just so amazing. Its like she is in the sitting. The whole picture is her. The entire background is apart of her.

Her hands! They are beautiful, the way they sit on the air and the way you captured the delicate fingers. absolutely my favorite part of this photo. the colours are intriguing, such a painful colour for a birthday. very well done

i like the papery texture of this. i think the orange and red fit perfectly...and i like the light around her head. halo, sort of. the virgin mary is what she looks like.

I like it. She does look a bit...tortured, but that's what's so attractive about it. And yes, the colors are perfect. I'm not sure what it is about them, but they're great, regardless. Very nicely done. +fav.

i really don't know why but to me, your portraits always seem to reveal so much characteristics of the model... 
hm... looking at this piece mainly the word PROUD comes to my mind. she looks like she's suffering - but bears it and tries to hold her head up high. please - don't ask my why i'm thinking that
maybe cause she reminds me a bit of jesus... yes THAT jesus... the light around her head - i don't have the right vocabulary... how do you call that light around the heads of the holy family?
