Can you tell me what process you used to achive this masterpiece?

It's what I call an oilgraph...a mixed media technique combining photography and oil color....
Glad you like it....she was one of the first pieces...

*sigh* such beautiful work. i love how painted this one looks. and the lack of color coupled with the look on her face really sets a strong mood.

this transports me back to a certain time in my life with a certain somebody... and i thank you for being able to take me back there

your work is always so great.. keep it up!

Beautiful.

i looked at this and didn't know what was there. I was reminded of immigration, but i was also reminded of castaways.

i like the darkness, the scratches. the look on the face makes me want to cry.

I really like the sort of scratchy dirty look to this... the pose and expression and dark shadows all work so well with that idea..
love the mood, and everything, really well done

that's so good, i'd hate to have it hanging on my wall... it just owns a feeling of compressed anxiety... something like that could be hung up in a guest room, when you really don't want them to stay long... haha...

kevissimo In reply to CharlieHex [2004-08-22 17:33:07 +0000 UTC]

Thank you....yes, I know. There are pieces to hang and there are pieces that you keep to just remind yourself of the journey....

This looks, wonderfully, like a charcoal sketch. Once again, your models expressions speak volumes; you are the king of illustrating body language.

I love the strand of hair falling over face, as the encroaching darkness seeks to envelop her.

Thanks so much. This is an older piece. Probably at least 8 years old. She was an old friend of mine who I haven't seen in years....

Thanks so much. Yes, alot of darkness....Haven't seen her in years. It's odd...we are both quite happy people actually. I guess that's what allows us to see the darkness with safety....
