It had been a week, a couple of weeks like no other...Returning from Texas and now friends in from out of town. It was a veritable litany of night after night of brilliant weirdness and celebration. It was Buck's birthday Saturday and just two days before I was asked to do a special performance piece at Tribe the Sunday after the party.
Somehow I said yes. Mind you, though I was enjoying myself immensely, getting any work done was next to impossible and I had seen dawn now, every night for a week and a half. Also somehow I prepared this piece and did the underpainting even while the party was going on...ducking back and forth in the midst of the mayhem that was exploding all over our main living space.
This what arrived that following Sunday night.

I'm actually trying to remember now. It isn't cadmium though....I use my hands way to much for that. It might have been an alizarin crimson...
