that is an extremely melancholy shot.
i've been away from dA for a while.. or not as involved as i would like to be.. but your work is always something to look forward to coming back to.. and this is no exception..

Hi Kev.... I'm going to go a bit hard on this one, because I had a feeling it could be more than what it is in the thumb...
The composition could be more powerful if the seated person occupied a larger portion of the frame; also the sky is lacking.
I know this isn't exactly a prepared photograph; but I feel like it could be more.
(I believe one tends to over-nitpick when an artist goes work like you do on a regular basis!!)

I tend to agree with you....I did a cropped version and it felt sort of...cropped. Pehaps not.
I'm going to be making an actual print of it shortly which will change things a bit.... and I will have all of that in mind...

Well October 20th is the worst day of my life...
so this photo really captures a lot of that melancholy feeling of the day for me.

Thank you......He just sort of appeared when I got on the bridge and it began to rain. I walked to the other end, turned around and he was gone.... Then the rain really hit and that's when I shot the other photo....
