incredible work reminds me of Wayne Barlowe's Inferno paintings, despite the vastly different subject matter

This is probably my favorite work I have seen in all of DeviantART. The use of blood as a signature you spoke of is touching and in general the scene is completely awe inspiring.

very beautiful piece, with a great deal of emotion and drama. I love the flow of colors. Also I notice that the darkness hides some of the detail and you have to really study it to see everything, so it naturally draws the viewer in.

Thank you......Yes, it's mine. It was all put together two years ago for my first museum exhibition. Photos and oilcolor. The bone can't be seen in this one, but is in left panel, glued just below the cathedral. (they are small animal ribs) The blood is actually more token than visible....though it can be seen in this panel if you look closely at the original. (I use it more like a signature than a compositional element) Glad you like it.....It took quite a bit out of me...

"Oilgraph" is the term I coined for the technique, so there won't be anything online about it....other than graphs on oil production and some mass produced printing process simply using oil as opposed to ink...
It's a reduction process I discovered in 94 by using oil over a traditional print. In this case...alot of oil, so that it's more than half of it is an actual painting.

this rocks out something hektic.
the white and black figures are striking, and the panel with the skull serves as a powerful focus, especially with the winds of evil/destruction/retribution/christian sterness blasting out from behind him.
the colours and composition remind me of the art that came with the warhammer 40k game. grimy industrial humanity in a cruel world. i suppose the influence is in the opposite direction though, with art such as this influencing their creation of the medieval 'space marine' aesthetic.
my only wish is that the crossing panels in the top right hand corner were a bit higher, to create a more crucifix shaped cross.
