Prime's world was destroyed while he was "saving comic book characters" (from his point of view his Earth was the "real one"), so I believe he would hate the "make believe heroes" and himself for this (you can think a better reason to have a huge survivor's guilty?). After all, hate is all that he have left.

Ah, I see. Just the Burnt or Whatevere'd S' shield into his chest reminds me of something I saw Prime do to himself after being captured.

He made the "S" scar in his own chest in the last issue of "Infinite Crisis". It was the "oh-not-so-subtle" way Geoff Jonhs choose to show Prime had gone bonkers. But visually it works great.

Exactly my point, Nessa. Superman is a great character because he represents our higher ideals, the fulfillment of dreams. Superboy Prime could be the exact opposite, the lost chance, the guy who could be a champion but fallen.
Unfortunately he became an one joke character. That's a wasted opportunity IMHO.

The 'lost chance' aspect also makes him a possible target for redemption. (I think that was tried in Legion of 3 Worlds.)

The redemption angle was slightly suggested in Legion, but never developed. And I agree with you, the redemption angle could be interesting (even if Prime wasn't strong enough to achieve redemption).

"There's nothing more dangerous than a man who have nothing to lose". I don't remember where I heard that before, but it sums why Superboy Prime could be a great villain if done right. He would become Superman's exact opposite, a destroyer of legends.
