A really really REALLY bad scan of a portfolio piece...A bull skull and 3 other skull that I can't exactly identify...I love drawing that bull skull tho'! It's gorgeous. O Lord no I'm sounding morbid!
The shading is all cross hatching.

I know one of them is a cat skull...one might be a small canine (fox or something)...and the other.....Lord only knows..
Drawing skulls is so much fun! I don't care what anybody else says,they're not morbid(usually unless it's got blood dripping out and a rose or something lol),disgusting,etc...they're just amazing.And so intricately designed!

I do cross hatching alot in my realism but not really in my anime-esque style...hmmm...maybe I'll start doing that soon...

Oh, my portfolio is full of sketches of skulls! They are so wonderful to draw! Perfect curves, smooth white surfaces with distorted edges... *Sigh..* Takes me back... have you ever tried drawing a Pig's skull? THOSE are hard!

I've never gotten the chance so get my hands on a pig skull...sounds interesting tho'..!!
But yes the pleasure of drawing skulls is their unique design and crevices...gorgeous shapes and such.

The problem with skulls is if you know the animal they came from well and try to draw the shape of the animal as a guide.... it completely throws you! I'm working on a piece in collage at the moment, a lifesize taxidermy style mount of a deer's head, made of wire and modrock, but instead of being painted like a deer, its painted like a skull, that THAT drove me insane...

Yes they are..^^ I love skulls and I just lined some smaller fitting skulls in a large bull skull and drew it in like 6 hours..
