So, a few weeks back my mom finally decided to get an estimate for getting my chihuahua's teeth cleaned. So she called the vet's office and asked, and they said they would mail us an estimate. So a few days later it arrived and it also came with a pamphlet about dog dental cleanings, and I as looking through it and this was one of the pictures in the pamphlet and I thought it was cute, so I drew it. I can't be sure it's a Chihuahua, but since he looks similar to my Chi marking and coloring wise, let's just say he is one.And now that I think about it, the estimate was pretty pointless because once my mom saw it would cost four hundred some dollars, there was no chance of a teeth cleaning in my Chi's future. But four hundred is really ridiculous just to get crap scraped of his teeth. I think one thing that knocks up the price however, is because they have to get a huge chemistry test to make sure they are good for anesthesia. Like I said a few journals ago, everything is too expensive these days.

Well sometimes I draw realistically, but not a ton. I do a lot of cartoons too, but sometimes I'll get a random urge to do a realistic dog or cat, or I'll just see a picture of something, and be like, "Hey, I should draw that!"

When I try to draw realistically...it ends up looking cartoonish! XD Even when I paint in Art Class! XD

I can't paint realistic.... painting is just a whole nother thing. I even have a hard time painting cartoons. I think it's harder because, unlike a pencil, where the tip is solid, with a paint brush, just a random wiggle of the brushtip could cause a mess up.
And with painting, you don't have as many tools at your disposal. No chamois, or tortillions, or anything like that.
As for art class, one time I had to do a realistic watercolor self portrait and it was a horrible fail. (Not to mention very unenjoyable to do). But there's worse things to draw. Like drawing nude. My mom told me (she majored in the arts in college) that in college art and photography classes, you have to draw and take nude pictures....

I like it as a hobby too, but when I'm older I'd like to try to find a job in art, or at least be a freelance artist. Although my mom is always saying "If you stick with art and only art you're gonna be poor, you should get a job in math in science." Which I know is true, the art industry is hard to make money in. So I guess I'd do art as a side job and do something in science.
AS for painting, it's not that I don't like painting over mistakes, or having to redo parts of a painting, but, well I guess paintings just not my thing. XD
