Markers and Inks on smooth bristol. The originals are all for sale at my storenvy: [link]I was gifted Ni No Kuni for my birthday from my friend Matt, and am having a hard time putting the game down, it's so cute! Couldn't resist drawing some of the main party members.
I just completed all of Hamelin last night which I really enjoyed (though dissapointed there was no brotherly welcome-back hug. Boo!)
If you’re wondering why I have Swaine with the Thumbelemur and not his default one, it’s because I find his default familar sucks - and he seems to work better with the Thumbelemur so I kept them as a pair. Swaine is totally my fave character, by-the-by.

I actually put Gunthur away in favor of trying something different.
What initially happened was that I gave the thief the Little Bighorn I picked up, found that it didn't do well with him and then gave him Vemahl, the Dumbelemur, and found he did really well with it.
Then I did something interesting... something I found I couldn't change for fear of the thief KO-ing more often. That and he needed something adorable. I gave him the Lagoon Naiad I had named Gemini. He now uses it more often than Vemahl, even with its low attack base. My headcanon is that he grew fond of it over the course of the game.

I actually DO still have Gunther with Swaine - he's just usually on the 2nd or 3rd tier of Swaine's line-up. So he's still leveling up and if Swaine feels the need to tank with him, he can. XD

Meh. Gunther's my main and he's been plowing through pretty much everything that's thrown his way. Oliver's Mite on the other hand, that cute little thing is down right evil when it wants to be.

Oh my gosh I just started playing this a few days ago too! <3 Just got past the Sky Pirates. 
Agreed, there totally should have been a hug there... but at the same time I get why there wasn't. Swain is painted as the cynic of the group, and not exactly the huggy type. Even when we saw his younger self, there wasn't much affection in him. And though his little brother totally could have gone for the hug, he IS a Prince/ruler and has been living as such for the past 15 years. I get why they were both a little stiff.
I keep him with the Thumbelemur too. They are an excellent combo, and I named it Xiao is homage to my favorite Level 5 game; Dark Cloud.
Anyways, enough gushing about the game, let's talk about the art!!
I love your specific style so very much. As always they are adorable, the colors are vibrant, and they're all so expressive. I like how the main figures get defined lines and the backgrounds are left to have the colors and shades define shapes. Of the three I have to say our lovely beast-mistress takes the cake. Something about all those cool colors against that warm desert background. 
At current point in the game I'm tempted to draw Swain on the back of the dragon I just got for my personal use... it's the first time you hear him honest-to-goodness laugh; he seems to love flying. Just need to figure out a good pose for it...

I haven't tackled the skypirates yet as I need to level up some more. Just morphed several familiars to their 3rd tier so it means a LOT of re-leveling to go now! XD
My Thumbelemur is called 'Momo' because...I just couldn't resist! XD
I can see what you mean about the brothers yet all the same, it was the most biggest downplayed reunion I had ever seen. I just don't understand how the game works SO HARD on the emotion around Oliver and his Mum's story, but others just don't quite get the same spark. :<
And that Swaine picture sounds amazing! I hope you get to draw it sometime!

Clank is actually the default names of one of those little bots...just like one of the rabbits is 'Jak'. I found this rather amusing...

I did the exact same thing, I loved this game SO MUCH! The animation the characters and the story are all brilliant and this picture really captures the characters and their abilities.
BTW just out of curiosity did you cry within the first five minutes of the game? I did but my brother who played right after me said he didn't...

Unfortunately, a friend was telling me about the opening WAY before I was even thinking of playing the game, so the early stages with his mum didn't hit me as badly as they would have for others. :<
