My flatmate and I are really enjoying the new series of TMNT (2003+ is our personal fave, but this one is super fun too!)Having a little go at drawing each of the 4 brothers in the new style.

I like how the background is simple yet effective. It also harmonize perfectly with the four turtles. Also the light effects are very well done :3

I'll be honest, when the previews for this show first started airing and everyone was talking about it, I was so skeptical to watch it. I didn't think it would be that good. But then one day I sat down and watched an episode, giving it a fair chance, and I can say that I absolutely love the series >w<

I was a little hesitant since I loved the previous cartoon so much (most of all its first 4 seasons) and sometimes I find it hard to adapt to changes when I've fallen in love with something, but I'm glad I gave the new show a go because I'm really enjoying it too!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012 series). Watch Cartoons Online has it. I watch it there then buy the DVDs when they come out in my country so I have my own HD versions.

It's just called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as per tradition. It's on Nickelodeon currently, though you can watch some of the episodes on their website, on demand, or I'm sure someone's uploaded a few episodes on Youtube.

I was actually really, really suprised by the new series of TMNT. I didn't like 2003, I was a 90s kid so I grew up on the series that was made in... the late 80s? Early 90s? But yeah, I was really suprised by the new series. It's actually had effort put into it. They could have just half heartedly made something to make money, but they actually put effort into it and it's awesome.
Plus Mikey has some moments where he is ADORABLE.

I am a HUGE fan of the original comics which is why I love 2003 the most (it's the most loyal) but the new one is sort of made for fans of both. I grew up watching the 80s one as a kid, but as an adult I just can't really sit through the old 80s episodes and enjoy them. A nostalgia feel, but still not really much to keep me watching.
Mikey IS adorable, but they need to be careful about how much they are dumbing him down. :<

No, he wasn't. But there's a difference between being carefree and only focusing when it's important and calls for it and just being straight up...dumb? To the point that they actually had the other 3 arguing that they didn't want to take him with them.
2K3 got him perfect. He wasn't always 100% following the plot but he could still come up with some great ideas, sometimes even better ideas than his brothers, that would work out well for the group.
They've been getting better with Mikey in the last couple of episodes of 2K12, so I hope they continue to do so.

Well let's be honest: Would you want to take Mikey over one of the others if you're going to be getting into a fight? Nunchuks aren't the most devastating weapons even in the hands of someone who has mastered them and is focused. He may come off as stupid sometimes, but if you'll remember, there is one episode where he dodges most of Splinter's attacks with his eyes shut while listening to music. He is a master at fighting on instinct rather than thoughts, which suits him perfectly. If he was smarter, he would have more trouble doing that, like Donatello did. Each of the turtles have their own area of expertise, and Mikey's is taking things easy, which, if you think about how all the other turtles tend to act, is a massive help to them.

The 2003 series is my favorite as well. The old cartoon is still kind of fun to watch but honestly it hasn't aged that well. As for this series, I haven't seen enough episodes to form an opinion yet but the ones I did see were fun to watch

the 2012 TMNT pays homage to the 1980's cartoon AND the comic at the same time with anime elements thrown in! I'm actually re-watching it right now

Yup! I think they've tried hard with this new one to cater to all the different kinds of fans. Didn't work for everyone, but it did for many. Sadly, I don't think they're going to risk going as dark as the previous cartoon, but it's still really good!

Def. give 2003 a go! It's very well animated and the stories keep coming around in full circle! You can always give the 5-7 seasons a miss, but the first 4 are ones that deserve lots of love! They're amazing!
