started working on it the other day and got stuck. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!EDIT - version 2 is obviously still not completely done, but has undergone some major changes.
EDIT - version 3 I hope is the final layout. I just have to sit still for a few hours and work out the more minute detail work.

I am intrigued by your color choices. The contrasts draw the eye in to each detail. I am trying to remain unbiased, as I completely love the subject matter. But I can't. I love this!

For some reason (maybe it's the one big eye?) this makes me think of Proginoskes every time I see it.
Oh, and this should totally be the flag of a pirate ship is my other thought.

I'm guessing the over all mood is meant to be dark, so my suggestion is to make tweak the lighting. Darkening the shadows more. Perhaps upping the highlight/shadow contrast...but then i'd worry about it looking to plastic given that squid are "pebbly" and bones are matt unless polished. personally I like the blue-green/orange-red combo of the squid, but it is a favorite of mine.

Nicely updated. The green eyes that seem to glow, the "bored" expression and the tentacles in the eye sockets of the skull; these are all nicely done touchups. What are you planning on doing with the inverted teardrop on the skull?

Well, you've got the crossed bones, how about a human skull?
Specifically having the two tentacles down and front holding/playing/stroking it?
Oh and something other than orange for the three eyes.
As is, though, it's fairly cool.
